RACE START INFORMATION
We are delighted that the course will remain at its traditional start and finish road from Partington Sports Village after the start area on Chapel Lane was completely re-tarmacked last year. We are keeping the bigger course loop introduced in 2022 meaning we now have a very large start area in order to give much more space as you line up, the start is approximately 300 metres from Partington Sports Village. The bigger loop introduced in 2022 seemed to produce even faster times so we were keen to continue with this course change going forward.
At the start, it is vitally important you slot into your correct time zone (predicted finish time) so that it does not cause any congestion, look out for the pacers and their flags (from 35 mins onwards) which will guide you to where you need to start for your ability. Please be realistic, for your own safety and of those around you! We we will have signs for each minute from 30 to 35 minutes in order to help our Elite Runners to line up by speed as we appreciate how important this is with the volume of sub 35 minute runners taking part.
We will ensure a well spaced out start area, please remember that chip timing means that your time will start once you have crossed the start mat.
Please make sure you are prepared, warmed up and on the start line by 9:20am to catch the important pre-race briefing. It is imperative that everyone listens to the pre-race briefing, we kindly request your attention so that all runners can hear important announcements.

Race HQ is in the sports hall of Partington Sports Village and will be open from 7:30am. Within this area you will find the number collection, bag drop, toilets, eco-water drop off, pre-ordered t-shirt pick-up, plus our Run North West pop-up shop and drop off for foodbank donations.

On arrival follow the carpark marshals instructions.
The race is easily accessed from both junction 8 of the M60 and junction 7 of the M56. From junction 8 of the M60, follow the A6144 sign posted Carrington. Drive through Carrington and continue on the A6144 until you reach Partington. There are 4 race carparks, please follow the parking instructions.
There is no parking at the Sports Village, this area is used to accommodate the race finish and volunteer parking. To ease congestion and save the environment, please car share wherever possible.
Postcode M31 4EL or M31 4BU will lead you towards the Sports Village and marshals will be available to direct you to a carpark.
Once these car parks are full, parking will have to be found on the surrounding roads. If you do park in a residential area, please park respectfully and do not block any drives/access.

Located on Moss Lane, Partington just near the junction of Russell Road. To get to the leisure centre follow the tarmac path which brings you out onto Chapel Lane.

NUMBER COLLECTION
Race numbers are now available for collection from our Run North West Wilmslow Store (2 St Ann's Parade. SK9 1HG - free parking outside store) and can be picked up on the morning from our Race HQ from 7:30am. You can also pick up family, friends and running club numbers in advance, just make sure you have their details (DOB) to hand. Numbers can then be collected any day from our store up to race day.

TRANSFERS
If you are no longer able to join us on race day, you have the following 2 free of charge options:
1) You can transfer your race place to another person.
2) You can transfer to our virtual race option and run the race in your own time up to a month after race day to earn your unique collectable medal!
To make one of the above changes simply click BOOK NOW on our website at the top of the Trafford 10K event page which will take you to the Nifty Entries page. Then click 'Transfer Entry' and follow the instructions. As per our entry terms and conditions, we do not offer transfers to another event or refunds. If you have already collected your race number you will need to pass this to the person you are transferring entry to.
VIRTUAL RACE OPTION
If you would prefer to run the Trafford 10K virtually, we have created a virtual option to allow you to still get involved, run the 10K virtually and earn yourself our iconic medal!
To switch your entry to the virtual race, follow the same transfer steps above, where you will be given the option to transfer your entry to the virtual if you would prefer to do this.
PLEASE NOTE: If you take the option to transfer into the virtual race, you will NOT have an entry to run the 2024 Trafford 10K. This virtual option is INSTEAD of joining us on race day.

Numbers must be attached to the front of your vest, please do not fold/cut/deface it in anyway. The timing chip is attached to the back of your number and is detected when you cross the start and the finish. Please do not run around the outside of the mat area or your time will not be recorded.
Please also take the time to fill in your emergency contact details on the reverse of the number prior to running, in the unfortunate event of an emergency, these can help medics to treat you swiftly and appropriately.
Please DO NOT run is someone else’s number as it is against UKA rules, it can cause problems with the results and could also cause a lot of distress should there be an incident and the wrong family are contacted.
TOILETS
There are a few toilets located within the leisure centre, including accessible toilets. To ease congestion for the queues and to facilitate the number of runners there will be portable toilets located outside the leisure centre. We do encourage runners to use the portable toilets as space inside the leisure centre is limited.
COURSE
This is a one lap, fast course which heads towards Dunham Massey before returning back towards Partington. We are delighted that the start continues to be back in its original location this year (Chapel Lane) and on smooth tarmac as the council re-surfaced the road surface in 2023, which as you know was previously covered in pot holes. We are keeping the improved loop from 2022 which will allow greater room to spread out at the start.
All roads are fully closed but in the case of emergency vehicles needing to access the course, please ensure that you are able to hear marshal instructions and follow their direction. Please see above route map for details.
The course has been measured and is certified to be an accurate 10k course.

First aid will also be available at the start and finish areas.
Please fill in your personal details section on the reverse of your race number. This greatly assists the medical staff, should you require first aid or medical treatment!
WATER & ECO WATER 🥤
In a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit for the planet, we have a bring your own water bottle (pre-filled). We can provide a label to put on your bottle and will clearly sign the drop off point at Race HQ. Bottles will then be taken to the finish line and will be waiting for you. Completely optional, but every person who brings their own bottle of water is helping to save the planet one small step at a time.
Bottled water will be provided, as usual, for anyone who doesn’t bring their own. We do use a responsible supplier for our water (as well as being ZERO to landfill), their bottles are made out of recycled plastic and are recyclable.

RESULTS
Timing and results will be available on the TRAFFORD 10K EVENT PAGE as soon as possible after the race has finished. If you entered your mobile number into your entry details you should receive a text as you cross the finish line.
After the results are published, if you spot any issues or errors please contact Nifty Entries our results provider by clicking on the 'query a result' button, or contact run@runnorthwest.co.uk where we will put you in touch with Nifty Entries.
PRIZES
Presentations will take place straight after the race for top 5 male and female finishers based on gun times. Vet prizes will be sent out in the post and based on chip times from V35 to V85+ in 5 year increments plus the first U20 (one prize per individual, male and female) - see event page for full details.
FINISHER MEDAL & PRE-ORDERED T-SHIRT
All runners will receive our iconic Run North West Medal. Any t-shirts that have been pre-purchased will also be available for pick up on the day please go to Race HQ to collect this. (If you are unsure if you ordered a t-shirt please check the start list, this information is next to your entry).

Hot food and drinks vendors, will be with us on the day at Race HQ to serve you pre and post race refreshments.
