Run North West are delighted to bring you the Lyme Park Midsummer Trail 10K after a very successful first year!

Enjoy a midsummer evening trail race on the 20th June at Lyme Park with family and friends where you will get free admission to the Park and easy free parking.  The trails and hills of the park are the perfect way to celebrate this midsummer evening and enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets!

Registration on arrival and meet-ups will be inside the stunning Lyme Hall and then post race food and celebrations will be at the Timber Yard just a few hundred metres from the hall.

A variety of refreshments and food vendors will be available at the Timber Yard  (next to the finish line a few hundred metres from the start) to allow you to make the most of this fantastic midsummer evening event!

The race is a 1-lap course within the National Trust grounds of Lyme Park and consists of approximately 10K of running, with 272 metres of elevation gain.  A tougher longer trail race than our other events with some great elevation and a fully marked and marshalled course, so no navigation required!

The course starts outside the impressive entrance to the main hall and is a tough undulating 10K with a mixture of grass, trail and road running. Enjoy the sights of Lyme Park and look out for the deer and cattle along the way!

A first mile mainly downhill section is followed by a short sharp climb past the infamous Cage with amazing views over Manchester. Another one mile flatter section then leads to the second climb which takes you to the race summit and then into the woods past The Lantern building. The second half of the course involves more gentle undulations and downhill sections before descending to the finish at the Timber Yard (only a 100m from the start). Here you will be awarded with one of our iconic medals!

The course is suitable for all abilities and a perfect introduction to a more hilly trail experience for beginners. We would recommend trail shoes although road shoes will also be sufficient depending on the weather in the build up.

Numbers will be available for advanced collection from our Wilmslow store (SK9 1HG free parking) 2-3 weeks in advance of the race and also available to collect on the day at Race HQ. On the day instructions/the Race Booklet will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to the event which will contain full event information.

With thanks to Lyme Park, National Trust for hosting the Race HQ

In a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit to save the planet, we have introduced a bring your own water bottle (pre-filled) to place at the finish area for the end of the race. Completely optional, but every person who brings their own bottle of water is helping to save the planet one small step at a time.

Bottled water will be provided, as usual, for anyone who doesn’t bring their own. We do use a responsible supplier for our water (as well as being ZERO to landfill), their bottles are made out of 51% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable.
