Sarah Oxley running for The Christie charity

We asked you what motivates and inspires you to join us on Sunday 26th November. Happy, sad, funny, inspiring– each and every reason is as powerful and personal as the next.

Sarah Oxley is aiming to run, walk, cycle and swim 1948 miles raising money for our official charity partner The Christie. Sarah’s dad was treated there before he died aged 52 and Sarah’s incredible challenge is to target 1948 miles; the year he was born.

As well as taking part in the Wilmslow Festive 10k, Sarah has already taken on some truly inspiring challenges, including her first triathlon, a 50 mile ultra marathon and so far three marathons and a 100-mile cycle as well as many many other events along the way!

As 2017 draws to a close, Sarah is ‘running’ out of time, with many more miles needed but she remains optimistic and determined to achieve her target.

With the support of fellow competitors, spectators and marshals along the course we have no doubt she’ll be adding another 6.2-miles to that tally later this month!

From all the team at Run North West we’d like to wish Sarah all the luck in the world for the Wilmslow 10k and the rest of her challenge raising money for The Christie charity.
