Wilmslow Festive 10K Residents Leaflet
October 2023
Dear Community,
This year’s Wilmslow Festive 10K takes place on Sunday 26th November 2023 starting outside Sainsburys at 9.15am. We are expecting up to 4,000 participants who will run the route from Wilmslow town centre, down Knutsford Road, following a loop to finish on Mobberley Road, Morley Green.
According to our records your home/business is either directly on the route or on an adjoining road and so we write to inform you of a rolling short-term road closure on the morning of the event. The safety of participants and residents is our absolute priority and for this reason the whole 10K route is run on fully closed roads.
TRAFFIC INFORMATION
We have a legal road closure permitted by Cheshire East Council from 8am until 12 noon however, we will endeavour to close each road for as short a period of time as possible to minimise disruption. As the last runner passes through each section of the course, we will re-open the road behind with approximate timings as follows;

We will position around 100 marshals onto the route for the safety of runners and residents. No vehicles (excluding a blue light emergency) will be permitted to enter or leave the route during the closure – we hope you understand that we need to ensure the runners are safe and away from vehicles. If a vehicle drives through the legal road closure, this will result in us having to report the incident to the police, as it is compromising the safety of both themselves and the event participants/marshals. If you need to leave your house by vehicle during this time duration, might we suggest moving your vehicle before the road closures are in place.
This event brings a boost to the town with a large increase in trade for many of our town’s retailers and we hope you can have some patience as we appreciate that not being able to leave your home by motor vehicle even for a short period is an inconvenience.

Kind Regards
The Run North West Team
