This 10K trail race attracts both club runners seeking to place and recreational runners enjoying a festive event, many in fabulous fancy dress!The race is a 1-lap course which runs through and around Tatton Park, consisting of undulating terrain, trail, grass, tarmac and gravel. The final 1K is on a fully closed road, at Egerton Youth Club. We look forward to seeing you on the start line at the Knutsford Gates of Tatton Park! KEY INFORMATION FOR RACE DAY:START TIME: 9:30AMPARKING: there is plenty of parking available in Knutsford Town Centre (all carparks are a maximum 10 minute walk to the start area), all of which is free on a Sunday. Parking is not marshalled or controlled by Run North West so please park up considerately. Its approximately 600m from the finish area at Egerton Youth Club to the start at Knutsford Gates. Whilst we are happily out of COVID restrictions, please be assured we still have some policies in place in order to minimise the risk and keep everyone safe.Please do not attend this event if you have any COVID symptoms - we recommend taking a lateral flow test before attending to ensure the safety of all our participants. RACE START INFORMATION The race starts at Knutsford Gates of Tatton Park - WA16 6AE.PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME OF 9:30AM Please make sure you are prepared, warmed up and on the start line by 9:20am to catch the important pre-race briefing. It is imperative that everyone listens to the briefing, we kindly request your attention so that all runners can hear important information. Announcements will be made throughout the morning by the race commentator. Please note that number collection is next to the start line - Wallwood, Tatton Street. WA16 6AE (opposite Apus Peak, please look for the RNW Gazebo's) Please ensure you head down to the start line in plenty of time, the start and finish are approximately 600 metres apart.FINISHThe race finishes just outside Egerton Youth Club on Mereheath Lane. The final 1K is on a fully closed road, at Egerton Youth Club. Please keep moving once you have crossed the finish line, as this needs to be kept clear for runners who will be continuing to cross the finish line.At the finish you will be rewarded with your Run North West finishers medal, water and festive surprise. With the change of race organiser, Roberts Bakery have come to the decision to cease sponsorship of the Tatton Yule Yomp. We would like to thank Roberts Bakery for their generous support over the last 8 years.As part of our environmental policy we have made the decision to no longer supply goodie bags, but we will be handing out a festive surprise to you all at the finish line. COURSE The race starts at the Knutsford Gate to Tatton Park and finishes just outside Egerton Youth Club on Mereheath Lane. We would advise trail shoes for the course, particularly if the days leading up to the race have been wet.We will be holding a fancy dress competition on social media the week after the race, so wear your best festive fancy dress outfits and make sure you smile for our photographers when you see them! 📸COURSE MAP TRAVEL TO THE RACE BikeThere are bike storage areas in Knutsford Town Centre or you can leave your bike at at Egerton Youth Club. Public TransportThe nearest train station to the start line is Knutsford, but services will be very limited on a Sunday. Car and parking facilities Where possible please car share and please arrive early to avoid any road closures and congestion. You can also pick up family, friends and running club numbers in advance, just make sure you have their details (DOB) to hand. RACE DAY MORNING COLLECTION: from 7:30am near the start area (Wallwood, Tatton Street. WA16 6AE - please look for the RNW Gazebo's).STORE OPENING HOURS:Mon-Sat 9:30-5:30Sun: 11:00-4:00In accordance with our terms of entry deferrals and refunds are not possible due to our significant up front costs. But the following options are available to you: TRANSFERSIf you can no longer make the race and wish to transfer your entry to someone else you can do this via your original confirmation email or through your nifty entry log-in. Transfers are free of charge and any monies transferring hands needs to be a direct agreement between the two parties. If you transfer your number after collecting it from our store then please note you will need to give the number to the person you have transferred it to. Transfers will close at Midnight, Saturday 11th December.VIRTUAL RACE OPTIONIf you would prefer to run the Tatton Yule Yomp virtually, we have created a virtual option to allow you to still get involved, run the race virtually and earn yourself our iconic medal!To opt for the virtual race, an email will be sent out early next week (please check your junk if you don't receive this) with an option for you to switch your entry to this if you wish to.PLEASE NOTE: If you take the option to transfer into the virtual race, you will NOT have an entry to run the 2021 Tatton Yule Yomp. This virtual option is INSTEAD of joining us on race day.BAGGAGEPlease leave your baggage in your car where possible. However if needed we do have an on-site baggage drop at Egerton Youth Centre, Mereheath Lane. WA16 6SL (please note this is at the finish area and approximately 600 metres from the start line).FINISHER MEDAL & PRE-ORDERED RON HILL TECHNICAL FINISHERS T-SHIRTAll runners will receive our iconic Run North West Medal. T-Shirts that have been pre-purchased will be available for pick up on the day please go to EGERTON YOUTH CLUB which is the race finish location (Mereheath Lane. WA16 6SL) to collect this. If you haven't already pre-ordered a t-shirt you can buy one on the day for £9.95 (while stocks last).NUMBERSNumbers must be attached to the front of your vest, please do not fold/cut/deface it in anyway. The timing chip is attached to the back of your number and is detected when you cross the start and the finish. Please do not run around the outside of the mat area or your time will not be recorded. Please also take the time to fill in your emergency contact details on the reverse of the number prior to running, in the unfortunate event of an emergency, these can help medics to treat you swiftly and appropriately. Please DO NOT run in someone else’s number as it is against UKA rules, it can cause problems with the results and could also cause a lot of distress should there be an incident and the wrong family are contacted. TOILETSThere will be ample portable toilets at the start area and toilets available at Egerton Youth Club at the finish area. FOOD AND DRINKThere are many food and drink venues in Knutsford Town Centre for pre and post race refreshments and lunch options.Apus Peak is close to the start line and will be open from 8am, they will be offering 10% off all drinks, coffee, flapjack and Veloforte natural gels and bars etc. if you show your race number.There will also be other food and drink vendors on the day. MUSIC PLAYERS/HEADPHONESWe strongly advise against the use of personal music players or headphones during the race, as this can restrict your ability to hear safety instructions from marshals or unexpected events.MEDICAL SERVICES First aid is situated at various points along the course. Should you feel unwell during the race please let your nearest marshal know so we can arrange for medics to get to you as soon as possible. If you come across anyone injured or in distress, please report it to the nearest marshal who will be in contact with our event team and our first aid providers. First aid is also available at the start and finish areas.WATERBottled water will be provided, as usual, for anyone who doesn’t bring their own. We do use a responsible supplier for our water (as well as being ZERO to landfill), their bottles are made out of a minimum 51% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable.Water will be available at the half-way point of the race and at the finish line.Its important that you either take the bottle home with you to recycle or drop in our recycling bin at the finish.If you'd like to view our environmental policy please click here.PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHYOur race day high resolution pictures are free to download and will be available the day after the race courtesy of Run North West. These will be available to view via a link on the Tatton Yule Yomp event page on our website RACE DAY PHOTOS.Our videographer will be with us on the day to capture an event video. As soon as the pictures and videos are available we will post an update on our social media pages. Do bear with us as there will be lots to edit, they are usually available the day after the race. RESULTSTiming and results will be available on the TATTON YULE YOMP EVENTS PAGE as soon as possible after the race has finished. If you entered your mobile number into your entry details you should receive a text as you cross the finish line. PRIZES Presentations will take place straight after the race for top 3 male and female finishers based on gun times and are cash prizes along with a special gift. Vet prizes will be sent out in the post and based on chip times. All prizes are equal for male and females, they will be awarded to the top 3 finishers as well as the first Vet in all age groups from V35 to V80+ in 5-year increments plus the first U20 (one prize per individual, male and female). Trophies will be awarded to top 3 boys and girls of the Fun Run, based on position.FAMILY FUN RUNPLEASE NOTE THE FAMILY FUN RUN IS NOW SOLD OUT AND ENTRIES WONT BE TAKEN ON THE DAY. Our chosen charity is The David Lewis Centre ❤. 100% of the proceeds from the Family Fun Run, will go to the charity! Family Fun Run numbers are collection on the day only. The Family Fun Run will start as soon as the main 10K event has set off, from the same start location and is approximately 2KM in distance looping back to the same point.Please line up behind the main race start to be ready to start at approximately 9:35am. Minimum age 4 years old, children who are unable to manage the run safely on their own without assistance, must be accompanied by an adult.All Fun Runners will received one of our Tatton Yule Yomp Finisher Medals and Top 3 Boys and Girls will receive a Trophy.
