Knutsford 10K - Race Day Instructions

WA16 9EU

Not long to go now until we finally host the very first Knutsford 10K, an event that has been 3 years in the making but also delayed by 18 months, so we are super excited to finally be here!
This race information email includes everything you need to know about the start, finish, number collection, parking and much more.

This super fast PB course starts within the grounds of Barclays Radbroke Technology Centre, then heads out onto the country lanes of Over Peover, Snelson and Peover Heath, before returning to Barclays Radbroke campus.

The race is run on beautiful country lanes, all fully closed to traffic, we believe this will prove to be one of the fastest 10K races in the North West, with only 77ft of elevation across the entire course.

Entries are still open but the race is very close to being full so if you have any friends of family who would like to enter make sure they do so now.

As we continue to encourage a high quality field at the front, any last minute elite entries will be accommodated, please email our colleague Dave Norman:

Please see Elite Criteria here:
Elite Entry – Run North West

We look forward to seeing you on the start line!

Thank you for joining us at our very first Knutsford 10K, we can't wait for you to join us for a one lap, super fast course on scenic country roads.
Whilst we are happily out of COVID restrictions, please be assured we still have some policies in place in order to minimise the risk and keep everyone safe.

Please do not attend this event if you have any COVID symptoms - we recommend taking a lateral flow test before attending to ensure the safety of all our participants.  If you would like to see any further details on the current government COVID guidelines visit here: Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support - GOV.UK (
If you have any questions that are not answered within the booklet, please contact us via email

Please make sure you are prepared, warmed up and on the start line by 9:20am to catch the important pre-race briefing. It is imperative that everyone listens to the briefing, we kindly request your attention so that all runners can hear important information. Race HQ is in Barclays Radbroke Technology Centre and will be open from 7:45am. Within this area you will find the number collection, bag drop, sports massage and much more!

There are bike storage racks situated around the Radbroke Campus.

Public Transport
The closest train station/tram stop (on foot) to Race HQ is Knutsford (2.6 miles) but sadly there are no Sunday services running which would get you to the event on time.

Car and parking facilities
Where possible please car share 🚗 to ease congestion, traffic and help save the environment 🌍!

There is ample FREE parking within the grounds of Barclays Technology campus. Please only use the Barclays staff entrance directly off the A50 to park your car on arrival.  The main entrance to the Radbroke campus on Stocks Lane will be closed for the duration of the event.

Postcode WA16 9EU will lead you towards the correct entrance (the staff entrance on Holmes Chapel Road).  Marshals will be available to direct you to a carparking space.

Race numbers are now available for collection from our Run North West Wilmslow Store (2 St Ann's Parade. SK9 1HG) and can be picked up on the morning from our Race HQ from 7:45am.  Please note we don't post numbers out to help reduce the significant amount of waste this creates and do our bit to help the planet.

If you can no longer make the race and wish to transfer your entry to someone else you can do this via your original confirmation email or through your nifty entry log-in.  Transfers are free of charge and any monies transferring hands needs to be a direct agreement between the two parties.  Transfers will close at Midnight, Saturday 16th October.

If you would prefer to run the Knutsford 10K virtually, we have created a virtual option to allow you to still get involved, run the 10K virtually and earn yourself our iconic medal!

To opt for the virtual race, an email will be sent out early next week (please check your junk if you don't received this) with an option for you to switch your entry to this if you wish to.

PLEASE NOTE: If you take the option to transfer into the virtual race, you will NOT have an entry to run the 2021 Knutsford 10K.  This virtual option is INSTEAD of joining us on race day.

Please leave your baggage in your car, the carparks are very accessible and close to the start area.  This will allow touchpoints to be limited to minimise any risks. Please do not leave baggage unattended as security may remove it. If you don't come in a car and do need one, the on-site baggage drop will be available at our Race HQ.

All runners will receive our iconic Run North West Medal.  Any t-shirts that have been pre-purchased will be available for pick up on the day please go to our Run North West Race Pop-up Shop to collect this.  If you haven't already pre-ordered a t-shirt you can buy one on the day for £7.50 (while stocks last).

Numbers must be attached to the front of your vest, please do not fold/cut/deface it in anyway. The timing chip is attached to the back of your number and is detected when you cross the start and the finish. Please do not run around the outside of the mat area or your time will not be recorded.
Please also take the time to fill in your emergency contact details on the reverse of the number prior to running, in the unfortunate event of an emergency, these can help medics to treat you swiftly and appropriately.
Please DO NOT run is someone else’s number as it is against UKA rules, it can cause problems with the results and could also cause a lot of distress should there be an incident and the wrong family are contacted.
There will be ample portaloo toilet facilities at Race HQ, please note there are no indoor toilets.

The race starts and finishes in the same location, within the grounds of Barclays Radbroke Technology Centre, then heads out onto the country lanes of Over Peover, Snelson and Peover Heath, before returning to Barclays Radbroke campus. The race is run on beautiful country lanes, all fully closed to traffic, we believe this will prove to be one of the fastest 10K races in the North West, with only 77ft of elevation across the entire course. The course overall is super flat with a modest incline at around 2K but then the course drifts down hill from 6K-8K. The rest is pancake flat.

This race is run on fully closed roads. The course has been measured and is certified to be an accurate 10K course | course number 19/595.
We will have a pacer every 5 minutes from 40-75 minutes to help you to your PB goals!

We strongly advise against the use of personal music players or headphones during the race, as this can restrict your ability to hear safety instructions from marshals or unexpected events.

First aid is situated at various points along the course. Should you feel unwell during the race please let your nearest marshal know so we can arrange for medics to get to you as soon as possible. If you come across anyone injured or in distress, please report it to the nearest marshal who will be in contact with our event team and our first aid providers. First aid is also available at the start and finish areas.
Please also fill in your personal details section on the reverse of your race number. This greatly assists the medical staff, should you require first aid or medical treatment!

In a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we have introduced a bring your own water bottle (pre-filled) to place at the finish area for the end of the race.  Please write your race number on the label provided and attach it to your bottle.

Bottled water will be provided, as usual, for anyone who doesn’t bring their own. We do use a responsible supplier for our water (as well as being ZERO to landfill), their bottles are made out of 51% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable.

Food and drink vendors will be available at Race HQ on race day.
Our race day high resolution pictures are free to download and will be available the day after the race courtesy of Run North West.  These will be available to view via a link on the Knutsford 10K event page on our website RACE DAY PHOTOS.

Our videographer will be with us on the day to capture an event video.
As soon as the pictures and videos are available we will post an update on our social media pages. Do bear with us as there will be lots to edit, they are usually available the day after the race.
Timing and results will be available on the KNUTSFORD 10K EVENT PAGE as soon as possible after the race has finished.  If you entered your mobile number into your entry details you should receive a text as you cross the finish line.
After the results are published, if you spot any issues or errors please contact Nifty Entries our results provider by clicking on the “query a result button”, or contact where we will put you in touch with Nifty Entries.
