Race numbers are now available for collection from our Run North West Wilmslow Store (SK9 1HG, Free Parking) or can be picked up on the morning from Race HQ at Alderley Park from 7.45am.

Please note the course is the same as last year and the reverse of the original, starting at the North Entrance of Alderley Park and finishing on the bypass.  But be assured, it is faster than ever on the wonderfully smooth tarmac of the bypass.

WELCOME - IMPORTANT RACE DAY INFORMATION

Thank you for joining us at our Alderley Edge Bypass 10K 2022, we are pleased to announce that this years race HQ has moved to the Conference Centre which is located 100metres from the start line and parking, plus the finish is now just a five minute walk back to the Conference Centre.
 

RACE START INFORMATION

The race will start at 9:30am from Alderley Park North Entrance and heads to the Melrose Way section of the A34 bypass, turning around at the Melrose Way/Pendleton Way roundabout and returning to finish. The course has only a little undulation for PB hunters, with entertainment at every kilometre– a fun day for all the family!  Please arrive in good time.

A warm-up will be provided for runners at the start line thanks to the Everybody Gym at Alderley Park.

The Millie's Trust Fun Run (under one mile) will start shortly after the main race at 9:35am.  See full fun run details below.

Whilst we are happily out of COVID restrictions, please be assured we still have some policies in place in order to minimise the risk and keep everyone safe.

TRAVEL TO THE RACE

Car & Parking Facilities
Please head to the Alderley Park North Entrance situated on Congleton Road (SK10 4TG).  Parking marshals will direct you to one of 3 available car parks:
Mereview A
Mereview B
Radnor Woods
All of which are less than 100m's from The Conference Centre Race HQ and the start line.
Please carshare where possible to help the planet and help ease congestion on race day.
Bike
There are bike storage areas at Alderley Park, SK10 4TG.

Public Transport
The closest train stations/tram stop (on foot) to Race HQ is Alderley Edge, which is a 2-mile walk away (or warm up). Wilmslow train station is 4.5 miles from Race HQ.
NUMBER COLLECTION
Race numbers are now available for collection from our Run North West Wilmslow Store (2 St Ann's Parade. SK9 1HG) and can be picked up on the morning from The Conference Centre Race HQ from 7.45am.

Please note that if you have purchased a RonHill Commemorative Finishers T-Shirt these can be picked up with your number from the 15th April at our store or on race day from race HQ before or after the race.  Additional t-shirts are available to purchase for £10, while stocks last.

TRANSFERS
If you can no longer make the race and need to transfer your entry to someone else you can do this via your original confirmation email or through your nifty entry log-in.  Transfers are free of charge and any monies transferring hands needs to be a direct agreement between the two parties.  Please be very careful if buying from a contact through social media as sadly some scams do occur when the seller takes a PayPal payment but doesn't have a number.  Check the persons profile and look in the race start list (Race Start List).  Transfers will close at Midnight Saturday 30th April.

NUMBERS
Numbers must be attached to the front of your vest, please do not fold/cut/deface it in anyway. The timing chip is attached to the back of your number and is detected when you cross the start and the finish. Please do not run around the outside of the mat area or your time will not be recorded.
 
Please also take the time to fill in your emergency contact details on the reverse of the number prior to running, in the unfortunate event of an emergency, these can help medics to treat you swiftly and appropriately.
 
Please DO NOT run is someone else’s number as it is against UKA rules, it can cause problems with the results and could also cause a lot of distress should there be an incident and the wrong family are contacted. 
 
VIRTUAL RACE OPTION
If you would prefer to run the Alderley Edge Bypass 10K virtually, we have created a virtual option to allow you to still get involved, run the 10K virtually and earn yourself our iconic medal!

To opt for the virtual race, an email will be sent out prior to the race date (please check your junk if you do not receive this) with an option for you to switch your entry to this if you wish to.

PLEASE NOTE: If you take the option to transfer into the virtual race, you will NOT have an entry to run the 2022 Alderley Edge Bypass 10K.  This virtual option is INSTEAD of joining us on race day.

Get friends and family involved too, buy the virtual race option (only £10!)  and make it a fun event for everyone!

TOILETS
Toilets are available at The Conference Centre and additional portable toilets will be available and positioned within the HQ area.

COURSE
The race starts at Alderley Park North Entrance and heads to the Melrose Way section of the A34 bypass, turning around at the Melrose Way/Pendleton Way roundabout and returning to finish. The course has only a little undulation for PB hunters, with entertainment at every kilometre and a fun filled Race Village – a fun day for all the family!

PACERS
We will have a pacer every 5 minutes from 40-75 minutes to help you to your PB goals! New for 2022, we now have additional pacers every 2.5 minutes from 37.30 through to 67.30, offering the opportunity to chase down even more PBs!

LIVE MUSIC
As with previous years, we will have our famous live musician's and DJ's every 1km along the race route to keep you motivated and help you have lots of fun along the way to the finish line!
MUSIC PLAYERS/HEADPHONES
We strongly advise against the use of personal music players or headphones during the race, as this can restrict your ability to hear safety instructions from marshals or unexpected events.
MEDICAL SERVICES
First aid is situated at various points along the course. Should you feel unwell during the race please let your nearest marshal know so we can arrange for medics to get to you as soon as possible. If you come across anyone injured or in distress, please report it to the nearest marshal who will be in contact with our event team and our first aid providers. First aid is also available at the start and finish areas.
Please also fill in your personal details section on the reverse of your race number. This greatly assists the medical staff, should you require first aid or medical treatment!
WATER & ECO WATER 🥤
In a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit to save the planet, we have introduced a bring your own water bottle (pre-filled) to place at the finish area for the end of the race. Completely optional, but every person who brings their own bottle of water is helping to save the planet one small step at a time.

Bottled water will be provided, as usual, for anyone who doesn’t bring their own. We do use a responsible supplier for our water (as well as being ZERO to landfill), their bottles are made out of recycled plastic and are recyclable.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
Our race day pictures will be free to download and available via a link on the events page on our website.  Our videographer will be with us on the day to capture an event video. 
 
As soon as the pictures and videos are available we will post an update on our social media pages. Do bear with us as there will be lots to edit, they are usually available the day after the race.
RESULTS
Timing and results will be available on our events page as soon as possible after the race has finished, simply click on the link. If you entered your mobile number into your entry details you should receive a text as you cross the finish line.
 
After the results are published, if you spot any issues or errors please contact Nifty Entries our results provider by clicking on the “query a result button”, or contact run@runnorthwest.co.uk where we will put you in touch with Nifty Entries.
FINISHER MEDAL & OPTIONAL RONHILL COMMEMORATIVE FINISHERS T-SHIRT
All runners will receive our iconic Run North West Medal.  Any t-shirts that have been pre-purchased will also be available for pick up from our Run North West Retail Store when you pick up your number from the 15th April or on the day of the race from 7.45am before or after the race.  Please go to our retail pop-up store at Race HQ to collect this.  Additional t-shirts are available to purchase for £10, while stocks last.
FINISH LINE PUB, ICE CREAM VAN & HOT SNACKS
Grab yourself a nice cold pint at our finish line pub or a refreshing ice-cream from our finish line ice-cream van! Plus we will have hot snacks and drinks available. Spectators can also take advantage of these while waiting for runners to finish the race.
2023 ALDERLEY EDGE BYPASS RACE
An early bird for the Alderley Edge Bypass 2023 Race will launch at 12 noon on race day for 48 hours so keep your eyes peeled to take advantage of this fantastic deal!
MILLIES TRUST FUN RUN (OFFICIAL RACE CHARITY)
The Millies Trust Fun Run will start shortly after the 10K race at 9:35am and is an out and back from the same start area as the main race.  It is approximately 1 mile in distance, on hard paths staying within Alderley Park and will be finished in time for the 10K race finishing.  Numbers will be picked up on the day only.  Please note as this is a fun run, this is not a timed race.  100% of your entry fee goes to our Millie's Trust.

Millie's Trust was created by the parents of Millie Thompson who tragically passed away in a choking incident in October 2012.  Millies Trust believe that everyone should have access to First Aid Training no matter what their situation in life is. They aim to make the training readily available for minimal costs and in as many places as possible and money raised from this fun run event will be donated to this fantastic local charity.
